Children In Need Network
What we do
CHIN was founded in 1993 by 12 organisations that were working with UNICEF and the government Ministry of Sport, Youth and Community Development who at the time felt a need for organisations to share best practice in working with children and to learn from one another.
This informal network started with regular meetings being held with support from UNICEF and a newsletter being produced for the organisations that were part of this informal network.
In 1996 it was decided that the network be formalised and an independent structure and secretariat were established.
The network has since broadened its scope and is currently working in four programme areas; namely
