Capacity Building

Due to the diverse nature of CHIN member organisations and the complexity and sensitivity of the work they have to do, CHIN has put in place mechanisms to improve and enhance the capacities of members to meet their mandates.

objectives:

  1. To introduce, strengthen and institutionalize the child rights approach across the CHIN network

    CHIN realizes that not much progress has been made in upholding the rights of children in Zambia. In view of this, CHIN endeavors to strengthen and institutionalize the Child Rights Approach by training its members in Child Rights Programming. CHIN also encourages the sharing of best practices among members in institutionalizing the Child Rights Approach.

  2. To enhance service delivery, care and protection of children In an effort to enhance service delivery, care and protection of children CHIN supports its members with small grants which are tied to the organizational development programme. The grants will enable organizations to provide services targeting children. Issues of child protection are also addressed through the provision of training in child protection. It is hoped that the training in child protection will contribute to the transformation of member organizations into Child Safe Organizations.

  3. To bring about change in the management, structures, systems and policies and to scale up child focused development, care and protection activities

CHIN recognizes the need for its members to improve and develop at organizational level to enable child focused organizations deliver quality services to meet the needs of their beneficiaries. CHIN will endeavor to implement an organizational development programme for its members with a view of improve the capacities of member organization to improve service delivery targeted at children.
